Product description
The organic form of the Chester is a unique and adventurous reworking of a traditional sofa. Although originally inspiration was derived from the iconic Chesterfield sofa, this original and contemporary design illustrates the processes of refinement and sculpture which characterise the most recognisable aesthetic of architects Future Systems.
The diverse functions of a sofa are well explored by Amanda Levete within the design of this piece. Chester functions equally well as a luxurious chaise longue for one or as a communal piece of furniture a sofa for the whole family. The Chester's design has obvious landscape qualities that allow it to sit as a freestanding piece in the centre of a room.
The Limited Edition Chester is absolutely modern in that it employs the latest technology to create its organic form alongside the most time-honoured skills of furniture manufacturing in its upholstery.
