Product description
Kartell products are considered to be real icons of the "Made in Italy" design. Objects of desire that communicate the value of design, research, innovation, and that represent the history of design.
Who else but Philippe Starck would dare mess with a king? The relationship between Kartell and Philippe Starck sometimes becomes a real desire for transgretion and challenge, of aesthetic and cultural provocation. Their competence have produced, yet again, a cult product. A Louis XV style chair in clear transparent and coloured polycarbonate : revisited baroque idea type, to astonish, excite and fascinate. “The idea is baroque revisited – Louis Ghost is the most daring example in the world of single-mould injected polycarbonate”. Reinventing the classic Louis XVI armchair for Kartell, the playful Louis Ghost Armchair (2002) is a postmodern triumph of technical innovation and historical style. Translating the varied lines and formal geometry of its predecessor into a single form of translucent or opaque black or white injection-molded polycarbonate, it is a robust chair with not a single weak point. Despite its evanescent and crystalline appearance, Louis Ghost is stable and durable, shock, scratch and weather resistant. A generously sized seat and medallion backrest offer leisurely comfort, as do the subtly curved armrests. This article has great charm and considerable visual appeal and brings a touch of elegance and irony to any style of home or public place, it is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Stacks six high.
