Product description
The worlds's thinnest most compact folding chair. The patented design allows the ISIS chair to fold completely flat to a depth of just 3cm, in one effortless movement. The chair is made from a series of flat geometric panels that are linked together and contained within its own frame. Each panel is constructed from several high-strenght laminations which are designed to ensure that the chair flexes and supports the user, providing an unexpected level of comfort.
"My fondest memory though had to be the launch of my folding chair, ISIS, by Thonet Vienna - one of the oldest and most respected manufacturers in the world. It was the first piece I had designed with a view to putting into production, but it had taken nearly three and a half years of very hard work and considerable capital investment without really knowing if it would ever be picked up. Although I knew it was being launched I was never really told when, so to suddenly see it on the Thonet stand for the first time was a real mixture of surprise, delight and relief. The ISIS chair is the first folding chair Thonet have produced since 1930 and was shown on the front cover of their 2007 catalogue."
