Product description
Tangram, the ancient chinese game, is composed of seven solid geometric figures, taken apart from a square. The origin of this game is dated around 740-730 b.C., when it was called ’Tch-iao pan’ that means ’clever seven units puzzle’. The first publications were distributed on early years of XIX century. It became a cult in China under the name of ’Truth board’, while in the western world it was called ’Chinese puzzle’, used also for its mathematics and geometry implications. Tangram is also a philosophy in connection with the perpetual change of reality: everything changes. Seven basic simple units can be arranged to compose thousand different shapes. Lago is very close to this philosophy: that is why we gave birth to a bookcase called Tangram and to a smaller Tangram to put on the table: you can play freely or reproducing the 200 shapes shown on the glass. This small Tangram for table was manufactured in collaboration of some social cooperative associations, granting a job to disabled or persons in difficult social situations. From this point of view this project raises its ethic and moral significance. The table Tangram is made of birch wood, hand finished with bee wax. Enjoy Tangram.
